The tailored style of the seventies gives way to the afflent, over the top powersuits of the 80's. Women wear shoulder pads and pinstripes as they claim their place in the corporate world. In the younger crowd, punk rock and new wave influence fasion. Leather jackets and skirts, ripped jeans and t-shirts are the look. Also big at this time are pastel blazers for guys, who were also rocking the loafer-no-socks look.
