Soil
*Use potting soil rather than regular garden soil in your container. Containers dry out much more quickly than plants in the ground. A mix with peat, perlite or vermiculite will retain moisture longer and yet be well draining.*Avoid re-using soil from last season. Soil in a pot is isolated, and doesn't contain the organisms necessary for natural decomposition to get rid of old roots, molds or other undesirables. Instead, compost your old soil start fresh.
