Drainage

*It's important to ensure good drainage in your container so your plants don't drown or rot. A hole in the bottom will allow excess water to escape. You'll also want to add a layer of material to the bottom that lets water percolate through. Rocks works well. So do broken pieces of pottery. Even packing peanuts will do the trick.
*If you fall in love with a container that doesn't have a drainage hole (and you can't add one), consider planing in a slightly smaller plastic pot with good drainage, then fit that inside your container.
