Greenland - On the Edge of Global Warming

Fisherman Turned Tourist Guide
Arne Lange, a 39-year-old Inuit fisherman and his five-years-old son Angut Rosbach as they sail on their way to hunt seals August 26, 2007 near their home village of Ilimanaq, Greenland. Lange, who has largely given up summer fishing forays for the lucrative choice of hosting eco-tourists in his home, still remembers the last time the sea around his village froze over, some 10 years ago. He says that in recent years the soil under the houses has defrosted, flowers bloom earlier in the year and the sea has lots more chunks of ice than before.Uriel Sinai, Getty Images
