Sea Level Rising

A ruined house sits on the beach in Shishmaref, Alaska, where beach erosion has forced inhabitants to relocate or abandon their village. A U.N. climate change report due to be released Feb. 2 is expected to predict that sea levels will increase between seven and 23 inches by 2100. Such an increase would speed beach erosion and pose a significant threat to coastal land.
