10 things you didn't know you could compost

Pets

No, I'm not recommending that you throw your pets in the compost bin. I really don't think your cat would appreciate the smell. Some of the things pets produce, or use, however can be composted instead of going in the waste bin. For example, pet fur, feathers, claw clippings and droppings can all be composted. Actually, you can compost your own hair and nail clippings too! Some brands of cat "litter" such as Feline Pine can also be composted. As for dogs, look for bags to carry when you go for a walk that are biodegradable. Whatever you do though, don't flush the waste. Our water doesn't want it.
