Plug-in Hybrid Car
A hybrid vehicle with batteries that can be recharged by connecting a plug to an electrical power source. Plug-in hybrids have characteristics of both conventional hybrid electric vehicles and of battery electric vehicles. (See also “hybrid car”)
As of September 2007, plug-in hybrids were not available for consumers to purchase. However, hybrid-electric cars can be converted into plug-in hybrids by using a conversion kit or service.
