Who care about the environment? Top politicians share their views

Sarah Palin

Palin has gone on record stating she believes global warming may not be an anthropogenic phenomenon: "I'm not one though who would attribute it [global warming] to being man-made," even though her running mate has acknowledged that climate change is anthropogenic. The Alaskan Senator is also strong advocate of opening up ANWR to drilling. When asked about environmentalists' arguments against the move, and the contention that the small amount of oil available in ANWR wouldn't affect gas prices, Palin first suggested that -- because ANWR doesn't have mountains and rivers -- it's not worth saving; then clarified, "I beg to disagree with any candidate who would say we can't drill our way out of our problem or that more supply won't ultimately affect prices. Of course it will affect prices."
