Five Natural Makeup Brands for Kids

Finding natural and eco-friendly makeup is a priority for many of us grownups. Well, it's even more important for kids!

Who puts makeup on kids, you ask? Indulgent Aunties, like me, who always have a bag full of lipsticks and the willingness to face down stern parents who frown on six-year-olds wearing heavy blue eyeshadow.

It's no secret that I love makeup -- I'm crazy for all beauty items. And I really do doll up my nieces, so I was excited to see the Lil Sugar round up of five all-natural beauty products made especially for kids.

From first makeup kits for teens, like the Luna Organics Girls' First Makeup Kit, to the easy for kid fingers to manage crayon-like Whoops Bunny All Natural Make-up Sticks, you can find a surprising range of kid-appropriate and earth-friendly products.

It's great to see so many products that are perfect for princesses and free of chemical additives. I love Piggie Paint, "as natural as mud," 14 water-based nail polish colors that are free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, BPA, ethyl acetate and acetone. They are even odorless, and cost less than $9! I'll take a bottle of "Dragon Tears" in super-trendy pale green, please!

There are plenty of grown up products that are good for kids, too. Eco Sugar called out Bath & Body Works products in general and Sugar Plum Fruit Pigment Lip and Cheek Tint. The color comes from fruit pigment, so it's good enough to eat -- which is good if you're dealing with a hungry kid who keeps licking off her lipstick.

One of my favorite grown-up lipsticks lines, Cargo Plant Love, is a big hit with my nieces because of the pretty packaging, which is made from eco-friendly, biodegradable corn. Plus they donate $2 from every sale to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital®, which is truly a kid-friendly practice.
