You are absolutely right. I was in that agri-business and we strive to keep the animals healthy and give them the best conditions to live in. They live better than most people. God gave us animals to rule over not rule us.

"Abuse" is not illiegal in factory farms. Animals are tortured and abused, stuffed into tiny cages and beaten. There are NO laws for how they have to be treated on these farms. So laugh about what PETAs trying to do but the next time you hear about dogs and cats being cruelly abused dont think that it should be stopped. I mean they're only animals.. right?

And anyone who thinks that animals in factory farms lead happy lives are deluding themselves. PETA may use the most extreme cases to get the word out but its because they want to make a difference. They're not just a bunch of zealous activists who think that no one should eat meat. They just believe in animals being treated better.

You've clearly never looked up any slaughter videos on YouTube, species is not important as it happens in any slaughterhouse. Go educate yourself before speaking again.

Hanging a frightened upside down chicken by its legs rendering it helpless , terrified, with wings flapping and chopping off its head is not kind.
Do you think chickens want to die, they enjoy their lives and probably trusted your Grandmother as a nonthreatening entity.
It is easy to raise and kill for your unhealthy consumption gentle animals.
Why not raise lions and slaughter them? You might get a boo boo trying that.
It is a shame people can't have compassion for animals that we consider food.
Read the book Slaughterhouse, you will be surprised how chickens are killed and even more surprised at what happens when steer or veal calves are murdered. One out of every ten animals is still alive after being stunned, hung by back leg upside down, (where hip dislocates from weight of animal,) throats slit and bleeding, feet cut off and skinned, one out of ten still alive.
Imagine someone doing that to a human.
a large percentage of all chickens have cancer when slaughtered due to growth hormones,90% have infected gall bladders,and theyhave lived their lives in terrible confined conditions.
The final process before dismembering the chickens is soaking them in big vats of cold water. This water is so dirty, it has pus from their infected gallbladders in it, ecoli bacteria and is rancid. You could kill a chicken and soak it in your toilet and it would be more sanitary to eat then those from the slaughterhouse.
Why do you think all the commercials warning you to make sure all counters raw chicken comes in contact is cleaned thoroughly and why the constant reminders to cook all meat thoroughly?
If that isn't enough people spend many hours in hospitals getting the fatty residue from meat cleaned out of arteries, or stints put in arteries to hold them open as fat from animals has clogged their walls, and then their is the heart by passes where animal fat has build up so badly there is no other choice and finally all the deaths from heart attacks and strokes from eating meat.
Colon cancer is also caused by the meat decomposing in your intestines for about three days, as the meat putrifies in your body it is causing cancer producing agents.
It may seem stupid to you now but someday that animal flesh, that body you so happily consume will come back to haunt you and your loved ones. Humans are not carnivorous animals, we are not meant to eat meat.
No flesh tearing claws, no huge incisors in mouth to rip flesh off bones, salavia in mouth not proper for digesting meat, stomach acids not correct for breaking down and digesting meat, intestines too long and convoluted to expel meat quickly.Flesh eating animals have wide colons and expel meat almost immediately.
I am not some fringe fanatic I am an educated person that has researched and learned the truth. The Meat Packing Industry doesn't want you to know these fact.$$$$ That is what they care about, not you, not the animals.We don't even have farms, we have farm factories.
