Brigid Catiis: Eco-chic
I'm always on the lookout for brands that are both hip and eco-friendly. And Brigid Catiis fits the bill pretty much perfectly. In her own words, she's "eco-chic."She also takes a different route to keeping her clothing business sustainable. Unlike many designers who use expensive organic fabrics and non-toxic dyes, she actually makes garments from recycled fabrics. And, since washing clothes uses up so much energy and water, Brigid assures that non of the things she sells will need to be dry-cleaned or washed in hot water. They can all wash cold and hang to dry!
Plus, because the clothes are made from vintage materials, items are unique. She's not limited to the same constraints as designers who use organic fabrics, and tend to have very few patterns and limited colors.
