Pandas Heading to Sichuan Province

In China, eight pandas were lured into travel cages with steamed cornbread, which sounds tempting enough to work on most people and animals.
The pandas are on their way to a new home in the Sichuan province, after a ten month visit to the Beijing zoo.
Originally the visit was planned to coincide with the summer Olympics last summer. However, a big earthquake in May destroyed parts of the Wolong reserve, which is dedicated to preserving giant pandas in the wild and in captivity. They had to extend their stay in Beijing while a new sanctuary was built to house them.
The new home for the pandas was built at the Bifengxia Giant Panda Base in Ya'an, complete with air conditioning and a big play area. The eco-zoo is supposed to have one of the best simulations of the pandas' natural habitat, so the Beijing Eight should be very happy there.
