Naked Bike Ride protesters in Sydney Australia

Anyway, of course World Naked Bike Ride happens in Australia. Think about what those people are like: they're ballsy and brash. They love the outdoors. If we believe what we see on Flight of the Concords, they mostly have convicts as ancestors, and like to brag about it. They're anything but shy.

Which is why it makes perfect sense that this is where you'll find a protest to raise awareness of "Naturism, Environmentalism, Pacifism and Biketivism" with a sub-theme of going "as bare as you dare".

The Sydney "leg" of the race was last week. For the artistic, and those who burn easily, body paint was available. I wonder if people brought their own brushes? Can you imagine sharing? Ick!

I am the Brisbane organiser for the World Naked Bike Ride. We got 7 people turn up for this years one, and all of us wore g-strings. It's a fun event but many people at the events don't want to go nude because of either fear of getting arrested or worrying what their family, friends or workmates might think. Who cares? It's only skin and flesh and doesn't kill or endanger people. If nudity was much more widely permitted in our culture and our media, we would either get humungous turnouts for the bike rides or they'd either become non-issues because nobody would be arrested or victimised for being naked. That is the way it should be in my honest opinion.

The assembly location is about 600m due South of St Peters Railway Station which is on the Bankstown Line. Time tables for the Bankstown Line on weekends for trains from Town Hall and all stops to St Peters and Liverpool or Strathfiled via Lidcombe to St Peters are available on the CityRail website.
