Spring Forward
Don't forget to spring your clock forward an hour this weekend (unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii). The official date for the start of Daylight Savings Time is Sunday, March 8th, at 2 a.m. While an early goal of Daylight Savings Time was to save energy, studies show that very little energy is saved as a result of DST, as our lives have becomes so plugged in, regardless of what the clock says. In another downside, other studies have shown that gasoline consumption goes up during Daylight Savings Time.
Whether or not Daylight Savings Time actually saves energy, most of us look forward to the extra hour of light in the evening, especially after a long, dark winter.
