When are we going to start reading about celebrities using public transport, which is a much more sustainable way to travel than any car on the market? Not only is transit more environmentally friendly, it is a social and an economic necessity in most cities and towns. Cars might be getting greener but their role in encoruaging urban sprawl; their influence on billions of dollars of road funding (which results in less transit funding); and their contribution to increasing obesity and accident rates means that they can never be truly considered sustainable.

Here's a thought celebrities...get your publicist to take a photo of you on a train or a bus and deliver them far and wide so as blogs like this one and mine (www.sustainablelivingtips.net) can publish it an start showing people how cool it really is.
