Deforestation Responsible for Increased Tiger Attacks

It's getting dangerous to be a logger in Sumatra these days. There have been six tiger attacks in the past month, in the Jambi province, which is in eastern Sumatra. All three of the most recent victims, who were mauled and killed over the weekend, were loggers.
It sure seems like the tigers are pissed off about something. Could it be that they don't like it when people clear their natural habitat for logging and palm oil farms?
The giant and beautiful Sumatran cats are the most critically endangered subspecies of tiger. As few as their numbers are -- between 400 and 500 in the wild -- they still don't have enough space to live. Three young tigers were killed in another province, when they came into the village, most likely looking for food.
I think an angry tiger is a pretty good motivational tool. I hope it helps convince the Sumatran government to get serious about conservation!
