Satellites Designed to Count Carbon
Soon we'll have a much better and more accurate way to measure the Earth's carbon dioxide and methane concentrations thanks to two new satellites, one out of Japan and one from our very own NASA. Of course we've been doing our best to monitor the planet's greenhouse gas levels for years but Earth-bound equipment has made for spotty and sometimes unreliable data. These two new satellites will be dedicated to "carbon-counting" and are expected to revolutionize our understanding of emissions. Unfortunately the NASA satellite launched today and failed. Hopefully they try again soon.
