This or That: Linoleum or Vinyl Flooring?

Now neither of these two are the absolute greenest option out there, but if choosing between just these two do you know which one is friendlier to the environment? It seems linoleum is the winner, although both products have valid arguments. What it really comes down to, however, is that linoleum is manufactured from natural, sustainable materials (flax seeds, plant materials, ground cork) and is totally biodegradable, while vinyl is made of non-renewable petroleum byproducts and is not biodegradable at all (although it is recyclable in some circumstances).
Vinyl is more durable, does that make a difference to you? Any other additions to the argument?
