Printer Converts Coffee Grounds into Ink
Is there really any problem out there that the world's coffee addiction can't solve? First it was that tired feeling in the morning. Then we discovered that coffee grounds could power our cars. Now it looks like coffee grounds might even serve as an eco-friendly source of ink for our printing needs. Korean designer Jeon Hwan Ju has developed a printer concept that would allow you to eliminate disposable (and expensive) printer cartridges forever: the RITI Coffee Printer.Operation is simple: just load in a sheet of paper, fill your coffee cartridge, and move the handle/cartridge back and forth across the printer. On account of the innovative -- if not a little impracticle -- hand-operated design, the printer uses no outside electricity. Not only do you have a sustainable printer, but your printed pages smell like java, or if you prefer, you can use tea. I wonder how well the RITI works? It seems like every printer I've ever owned runs out of ink on a weekly basis. I'd be willing to lose a little quality in order to not have to buy a $25 cartridge every time I want to print 2 pages.
