Woman Bites Bus Driver for Not Driving a Hybrid
When it comes to political activism there are generally two schools of thought: one group believes that non-violent demonstration is the only way to go, and another that believes in doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Green vehicle crusader Sheila Bolar of NYC is apparently a member of the later group. When Bolar entered a MTA bus M104 on the Upper West Side last Wednesday, she chose to get medieval on the city's emissions problem. According to bus driver Peter Williams: "She came on the bus, and she said she waited more than an hour for a hybrid ... I said, 'I'm not in control of what bus is assigned to me.'" That's when the fangs came up. Literally. After giving Williams a thorough tongue-lashing for not driving a slightly more efficient (yet still faily efficient) form of mass transit, Bolar actually grabbed the driver's arm and attempted to take a bite. After her zombie-like eat and run assault, the driver was infected and began biting ... now the whole city is on zombie alert. Just kidding.
Bolar did manage to cause bruising and swelling through three thick layers of clothing -- she's now in custody awaiting on a psychiatric eval.
