Got pallets? Make tables and more
We recently installed a wood stove in our home and when the stove was delivered, it came with the wooden pallet still attached. Now, pallets are a great thing for stacking firewood on and we have used plenty for that, but what if you have an extra one or don't need a huge firewood pile? How about making furniture?
Now, I probably wouldn't have pallet furniture in my house just because of the greater chance of getting splinters from it, but outside on the patio or in the yard? Why not? The Homegrown Evolution blog has a great little tutorial on how to make a simple garden work table from a pallet and some simple boards. The table is actually kind of cute and a quick coat of paint would probably disguise the fact that it is a pallet if that's not a look you like.
There's also a link to an interesting and industrial looking coffee table made from a pallet. I even found some plans for making a computer desk from reclaimed pallet wood.
