The Most Wasteful Carnival Ride Ever - Drive-in Ferris Wheel
Though they might be giant energy sinkholes, there are certain events that, as a society, we've decided are worth they're huge carbon footprint. Concerts, sporting events, and carnivals are just a few of these things. While many people are working to reduce the impact of our wasteful entertainment habits, other are moving in the opposite direction. Enter the Drive In Wheel. It's almost as if someone was trying to come up with the most ludicrous unnecessary drive-thru concept imaginable. That's right, it's a ferris wheel designed to carry cars around and around. The advantage over a traditional wheel, I guess, is that you can keep the A/C on if it gets too hot, jam your own ferris wheel mix on your stereo, or simply watch a DVD if the scenery gets too boring -- no annoying walking or standing in line necessary. Surprisingly, the incredibly inefficient contraption wasn't conceived in the USA. It was actually a Dutch artist named John Körmeling that designed this imaginative, energy-sucking green carnival nightmare.

Wow. Does this thing exist yet? The only thing worse than riding a ferris wheel would be riding one in my car.
