Ready, Set, Garden! Yes - Even in January
If you are new to gardening because of finances, a change in where you live or a growing desire to be more green at home, you need to start planning. Now. If you've been gardening for awhile the seed catalogs are arriving and you've already got a plan forming in y our head. Depending on where you live, you might need to be planting seeds indoors as early as next month so this month, you need to be researching varieties for your area and getting seeds, soil and pots together for your indoor growing space.
You'll also want to start scoping out whee you can find compost locally if you aren't producing enough at home and research different gardening methods and see what you need to implement the one you like. Nothing like sitting by a warm toast fire, looking at a seed catalog and dreaming of spring to get you through a long, cold January.
