Rare Tree Kangaroos Born in Nebraska
Good news from the Lincoln Zoo in About 50 of the pint-sized marsupials live in zoos in the U.S.. Matschie's tree kangaroos are native to Papua New Guinea, but like so many other animals logging and mining has destroyed so much of their natural habitat that they're on the verge of extinction in the wild.
This is the first documented case of twins being born to Matschie's tree kangaroos. The Lincoln Zoo is a leaders in the effort to conserve the species, and they are taking the responsibility of raising the twins very seriously.
