Miss Vermont Wears Recycled Dress

Miss Vermont, Ashley Wheeler, will be wearing an eco-friendly dress when she struts her stuff on January 24th during the Miss America pageant (haven't they killed that show yet?!). Crafted by a Vermont designer, this dress is made from all natural fabrics including silk, hemp, and organic cotton. All of the lace and beads are recycled.

Wheeler is committed to environmental responsibility. "I thought, ok, keep the money local, and also go with environmental responsibility; it's the perfect fit," Wheeler said. She also thinks she's the first contestant to "go green."

I wonder if she offsets all of her carbon miles for her pagent travel.
