Motorola Launches the Planet's First Carbon Neutral Phone
AT&T might have scored an exclusive deal with the iPhone, but it's T-Mobile customers will get the first crack at what's being called "the world's first carbon neutral phone." As far as I know, the Renew W233 is the leader of the pack. With a pretty For starters, the plastic housing is made from 100% recycled water bottles and is, of course 100% recyclable itself. Second, all energy used to produce the phone has been offset through a partnership with Carbonfund.org, aimed at renewable energy and reforestation. As far as packaging goes, the Renew comes in a recycled cardboard box, printed on with eco-friendly soy-based ink. Moto also promises a talk time of 9 hours, cutting down your phone's lifecycle energy consumption.
The Renew is slated to hit stores early this year.
