George Carlin on Saving the Planet

Don't watch the above video to leave you all warm and fuzzy. I like watching Carlin because his comedy keeps me grounded and allows me to laugh at myself. This brief clip addresses people who go around worrying about endangered species when many species become extinct completely unrelated to human encroachment. "Let them go gracefully," Carlin says.

Though there is plenty to disagree with in the clip, I don't think that Carlin was looking for a debate ... in fact I'm certain of it. Perhaps environmentalists are self-important like he says. However, if I didn't spend my time trying to figure out a good argument to convince my husband to allow a chicken coop in the backyard, I'd have to find something else to fill my time like heavy drinking or Valium.
