PETA Names Veggie-friendly Fable 2 as the Game of the Year
In their 2008 year-end awards, PETA awarded Fable 2 their prestigious Game of the Year honors, citing pro-vegetarian themes that teach gamers the real-life benefit of a vegetarian diet. Apparently, in the game your character can eat a plant-based diet to rack up "purity points", whereas eating meat will make your character fat and evil. PETA is certainly no stranger to gaming as they've recently caused a stir with their Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals Flash game, poking fun at the Nintendo game Cooking Mama which uses predominantly meat-based recipes.

oh cool, so we have a video game that encourages us not to kill animals and use their meat to feed ourselves.
yet it still encourages killing humans for nothing.

I`ve played and finished this game. You are asked to sacrifice your dog at the end of it. As for the vegetarianism themes in the game, they are almost non-existent. I`ve found and eaten only a single piece of tofu in the game. The only food that "makes you evil" in the game is when you eat baby chicks - THAT`S IT. It`s not all meats that make you evil. On top of that you gain weight from ALL food in the game. On top of that, you can freely punt (kick violently) chickens in the game at any time without consequence. Does PETA actually do game research?
