If you are looking for some simple ideas on being more green in 2009, "The Green Year: 365 small things you can do to make a big difference" is a book you should check out. Author Jodi Helmer gives you 365 tips, arranged seasonally, to make your year a little more green.

Instead of generally telling you about the book, I'm going to give you some of the specific tips so you can judge them for yourself. Each tip also comes with a small explanation of how to get it done.

You'll have to read the book to get the information on how to implement the tips into your daily life. Each page has a circle you can check when you have done the item, and a space at the bottom of the page where you can fill in an alternative idea that works better for you. I don't get my hair colored so on September 12th I might write in the name of an eco-friendly salon in my area that I want to try.

The book is made to be used and is full of useful tips. If you are looking for ways to be a little more green, this book should give you some ideas since it has 365 different tips.
