Resolving to Go Green in 2009?

questionsSome of you may be planning to make New Year's resolutions to be more green in your everyday life. Maybe you already do a lot and you have a specific idea like giving up paper towels, or, maybe you're still a bit new to the whole green thing and just want to be more green.

Either way, there are some great questions you can ask when looking at new stuff in 2009. One of the three Rs of being green is reduce, so think about some of these questions next time you go shopping.
  • Do I truly need this item?
  • Is this something I could easily borrow?
  • Is there a local alternative I could buy?
  • Is the item (and packaging) recyclable after it is used?
The RiverWired blog has these questions and several more to consider when trying to green your shopping habits. It looks like some of them - do I need it, can I borrow it, could also help with any resolutions you might be making about saving money.
