StubHub Helps NFL Fans Plant Trees in the Post Season
The NFL, and more specifically football fans are not usually a group that would be accused of caring too much about their carbon footprint, but a few notable organizations -- including the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders -- are working to turn that perception around. One of those is StubHub, who has announced a plan to help neutralize the NFL's environmental impact by planting a tree for each playoff ticket they sell this post season. Awesome. The program, called Tickets for Trees, promises to plant a tree in a national forest "closest to each team hosting a playoff game." Not only that, but they will also plant a tree for each dollar donated directly to each participating national forest. Though some have remarked on the overwhelmingly not green the typical NFL beer-chuging, chili-cooking game is -- but at least they're doing something. And honestly, tree planting is one of the best ways to offset carbon. So way to go StubHub. Trees resulting from super bowl ticket sales will be donated to the Ocala National Forest in central Florida.
