Tim Gunn for PETA
If anyone can make PETA seem reasonable, it's Tim Gunn, of Project Runway, creator of sanity in the sea of crazy that is the fashion industry.
Tim is the narrator of a new (horrifying -- only watch if you are ready to see terrible footage of animals being skinned) PETA video expose of the fur trade, with footage secretly filmed at fur farms overseas.
Longtime PETA targets Donna Karan and Giorgio Armani refused (or ignored) an invitation from PETA to view the footage, so they enlisted Tim's assistance. He personally sent copies to the designers, and says that it's important that they make informed decisions.
In the exclusive Q&A, the long time advocate for PETA and against fur says that fur is outdated, costumey and "rude". He is so measured and his argument so well reasoned that I find myself agreeing with him completely, even if I did have to stop watching the video half way through.
