Toilet Facts and World Toilet Day
Last Wednesday was World Toilet Day and Josh filled us in on the details, including the actions of health and conservation authorities in Australia, who called on the world to get rid of those flushing toilets already. The founder of the World Toilet Organization, Jack Sims, called the current flushing toilets unsustainable and urged a move to dry toilets. In honor of World Toilet Day, newscom.au treated us to some toilet facts:
- The average person spends three years of their life on the toilet.
- The average person uses about 6 gallons of drinkable water, per day, for flushing the toilet.
- An estimated 2.6 billion people worldwide don't have access to proper toilet facilities. Lack of suitable toilets and sanitation kills 1.8 million people per year.
- And a total random and useless fact, most toilets flush in the key of E flat. (?)
