i've been knitting since I was 8, and I'm 24 now, so working on 16 years. I've been crocheting even longer than that, but that is neither here nor there. :D. I love crafting for gifts!

There are some amazing bamboo and other alternative fibers available now. Knitting and crochet give me a reason to wander in stores and touch them all.

I'd love to learn more about alternative fibers. I've been knitting about 4 years now, I learned from researching on the internet.

Well, I've never knitted anything before but there's no time like the present!
Maybe I could knit all my Christmas presents this year. That'd totally be green!
...with knitted wrapping paper too perhaps?

I started knitting last December when my father went into the hospital for a stroke. I haven't finished anything yet, but my dad's a million times better now. Knitting helped me keep my sanity.

My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was pretty young. I've started knitted recently within the last year or so again. That book looks amazing.

I learned to knit just over a year ago, just after I was married. I had crocheted for years.

Hi! I've been knitting since I was 8 when I just *had* to knit a sweater for my new doll. That was 1983, so I've been knitting for 25 years (!) I've only been a "hard-core knitter" for the last 4 years. Can't wait for the draw! The book sounds lovely.

I've been knitting since November of 2005. Wow, has it been three years? It's the first time I picked up a craft and haven't been bored by it.

I've been knitting for 18 years--since I was in grade 1 in my school's "knitting club". Just recently have I taken it back up, and am learning how to make more intricate projects.

Last year my mother-in-law visted from Germany and asked what I would like for my birthday. She has such a longing to give on birthdays and I have such a difficult time asking for something. Then it came to me, and before she flew back home we went to a yarn store together to select yarn for her to knit me a scarf for my birthday. It is very special to wear her hand-crafted, skillfully-made scarf on cold, winter outings.
This year, I want to learn to knit so I can give a similar gift to others. My mother-in-law shares my alternative, natural lifestyle and this book would be the perfect blending of my new interest with my green lifestyle.
A knitter in the waiting,
Janet

I have been knitting about 2.5 years this time around. My grandmother taught me when I was about 9 and it just didn't happen. I had her re-teach me 2.5 years ago and am addicted to knitting, crocheting and yarn now.
