I have a handmade patchwork elephant that my Grandmother made for me when I was born. My Grandmother is the most wonderful woman she raised 10 beautiful children including my Mother. I want to keep this piece in my family for as long as it will make it! I have since passed it on to my daughter (4 mo) and she loves it just as much as I did!

Henry the Dog was the best dog in the world, he was bigger than me, orange with black ears and a black nose and a name tag "Henry". I don't know where he came from, but he stayed with me and became a good friend to my son over 25 years later. He is now packed away carefully awaiting a future return for any potential grand-children or visiting nieces and nephews.

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for stuffed animals, but I have tried really hard to resist temptation over the past years. The only exception is any stuffed animal that looks like a silly cat. I own about 15 silly looking cats. They sit in my tv cabinet in my bedroom. They watch me wathcing tv.

it is the one that my mom never let me play with because it was used as a decoration in the living room. This will be a great present for my recently born nephew.

My favorite stuffed animal growing up was "Mr. Bear." One of those cheesy Christmas bears - white (BIG, to a 4 year old!), with a red/white striped scarf and a little red hat with a green pom pom. He even played Christmas music if you pushed his "paw." He grew with me - and as we grew up he lost his hat, his button nose, an eye, his 'mouth' starting falling off, and the music stopped playing. I turned the back zipper pocket that originally held his 'music' and batteries into my secret hiding spot in junior high - a place to hide my secret notes passed in study hall about the newest crush. Now Mr. Bear is tattered and a little gray instead of white - but he'll always be my "Mr. Bear" and I intend on having a special place for him in my child's room!

My favorite stuffed animal from childhood was Yellowstone the bear. He was a souvenir from a visit to Yellowstone national park when i as about 4. Although he is a little warn from years of love, and has been wearing the same shirt for years he still has a place out in my bedroom. Here is a picture of him http://www.flickr.com/photos/viscidleigh/390718307/in/set-72157594587309382/ with Samuel the tuffed dog and my cat. I was a real 'original' thinker when it came to naming stuffed animals as my cousins and I all had Samuels, the name that is printed right on the tag.

When I was 3, my mother took me to a Jo-ann fabrics to patch up a blanket of mine. While I was there, I found a little doll in the middle of the aisle. It had a little yellow onesie with lace, obviously not for a little boy. But I really liked that doll, right from the start. By the time my mom realized I had picked up this doll, I had already named it Bud. So she really had no choice but to buy it for me. She decided to masculinize Bud's wardrobe, complete with a little set of overalls for it, covered in train and car patterns, and a little white blanket. I slept with that little doll every night until I was 9 years old. Even now, Bud has a little bed made for it in my dresser.

When I was young, I used to have a gang of stuffed animals that I called "My Guys." Evidently "the guys" and I were inseparable. The leader of the group was a little brown dog with big, floppy chocolate brown ears that I still have today - in fact, I've given it, a little worn, to my 1 and a half year old who seems to love it just as much. But it's falling apart! I think it's time for a new ring leader...

My favorite is a stuffed tiger named Ray (I was obsessed with Billy Ray Cyrus at the time!). I slept with him until I got married, and he's still in my room, though not on the bed anymore. :-)

My favorite stuffed animal was King Manly Bear -- he's a pot bellied bear and his shape is perfect for cuddling. He went with me to college, and accompanied me when I moved cross country, and I have him to this day!
(BTW I love Under the Nile products!)
