NY natural history set to launch climate change exhibit
Want to roll up the old shirt sleeves and get immersed in the facts and figures surrounding climate change? For a while now, we've been limited to reading books and watching An Inconvenient Truth on repeat to gain perspective on global warming. Soon, you'll be able to examine the data first-hand -- all you'll need is a ticket to the American Museum of Natural History's exhibit entitled "Climate Change: The Threat to Life and A New Energy Future."The landmark exhibit will showcase the cause and effects of climate change, as well as how global warming can be slowed down by clean and renewable energy like wind, solar, and nuclear. As one of the nation's most respected science museums, they're not sidestepping an opportunity to present one of the most loaded scientific issues of our time -- even though it might stir up a little political controversy.
In fact, Curator Edmond Mathez seems to have a 'bring it on' type of attitude about the exhibit. Some people will refuse to believe it, he says, but what's important to him is that "my colleagues will walk through here and say we did it correctly, that we present the issue objectively."
