Do you need an away room?
Sarah Suzanka, author of The Not-So-Big House, is interviewed on Mother Earth News. (Thanks to David at The Good Human for the tip!).
Suzanka puts forth the idea of smaller, more higher quality homes, and one thing she mentions in the interview is the idea of an "away room." While houses become more and more open plan, we're losing the ability to get away, and our houses become less functional and less peaceful as a result. Her answer: Create an "away room" with French doors so it becomes an audio "away" room, but not necessarily a visual one.
