How many chemicals do you think you are exposed to?
Here at Green Daily we write a lot about natural body care products, organic foods and clothing made from natural fibers. There is not a lot of hard and fast scientific evidence about the long-term effects of exposure to a lot of the chemicals we come into contact with on a daily basis but it seems good to avoid them. Children, especially, absorb a lot from the environment around them. They hear what we say and repeat it at inopportune times and the littlest ones seem to explore the world with their mouths, chewing on every possible thing.
The LA times reports that a test of umbilical cords found traces of at least 300 chemicals in a newborn's body. Those are all from things Mom came in contact with before the baby even left the womb. A family in Oakland, CA had body burden testing done and found alarming rates of some chemicals in their children's bodies - much more than in the adults.
Until we know what all these chemicals can do over the long term, it seems even more prudent to stick with more natural products, avoiding things like plastics and chemicals whenever possible. It takes more time to research your options and purchases but it may prove worth it for you and your children's health.

I have been researching about chemicals in all the products that consumers use everyday! I was blown away with what I was finding. I recently was introduced to a company called Melaleuca. Their products do not contain chemicals. I was skeptical at first, but I love everything I have tried. I have tried everything from their crackers to their household cleaners. I am very impressed!! They work so well & are saving me money!! The change in my family is well worth it. We are all sleeping better, we are not getting sick like we were before, and we all have so much more energy. I could ramble on all day about the changes & how impressed we are with this company. If you would like to find out more, email me at chemicalfreeindy@aol.com or find me at www.myspace.com/chemicalfreeindy. You won't regret it!!
