bella lucce provides responsible bath time decadence
I always feel a bit torn when I get ready to take a bath. I have a seriously large bathtub which takes an awful lot of water to fill. But, I generally take a bath once every two or three months, so I think it's one of those indulgences I can live with. Since my baths are few and far between, I like some serious pampering when I do get into the tub. I recently tried some bella lucce products and wow, it was seriously decadent in that tub! And not only were the products decadent, they were organic, pronounceable and housed in recyclable plastic packaging.
Lela Rain Barker started the company in 2003 while looking for a business that would allow her, then a single mother, more time to stay at home with her young children. She had much positive feedback on bath products she had been creating for her family and decided to see if she could make a business out of it.
The company reuses clean shipping boxes and packing peanuts, sources organic and fair trade ingredients, prints product labels on a material made of corn and uses only recyclable plastics in packaging. The company is also certified carbon neutral by TerraPass and a certified participant in PETAs Caring Consumer Project. If that isn't enough to make you feel ok about taking a bath, they also give back to the communites they source ingredients from and all products are paraben free, silicone free, petroleum free, dye free and sulfate free.

The first thing I tried was the Manuka Honey Drizzle. You get a large tub of luscious smelling honey-textured drizzle to swirl into your bath. It even comes with a honey dipping stick to make things easier. The drizzle smells absolutely divine. I am not into floral scents or overly perfumed stuff and this wasn't an overpower smell. Just pure yumminess in the form of honey and orange. I considered tasting it since it is all natural but, I thought that might ruin my experience!
To add to that I opened up the Peruvian Chocolate Sugar Scrub. I was happy right there. The combination of the orange scented Manuka honey and the choclate was very nice. But then, I used the sugar scrub and my skin was very soft - and lightly scented with chocolate!
Bella lucce uses organic, fair trade certified Dagoba cocoa powder and French cocoa absolute (an oil extracted from the cocoa bean). It was almost as good as eating some chocolate. I swear! I followed it all up with the Peruvian Chocolate Bliss Creme. So that lovely chocolately scent stayed with me beyond the bath. It was really quite fabulous and my skin was nice and soft as well.
This would be an awesome indulgence for anyone that likes a little pampering. The company also works with many spas so keep your eyes open for bella lucce products and you could get a Peruvian Chocolate pedicure next time you need an extra special treat.
