Report: Meat and milk should be rationed for global warming
Milk has managed to work its way into the news a lot in recent days. First, it was the Chinese milk scare. Then, it was the PETA asking Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream to replace cow's milk with breast milk. Now, a group of researchers from the University of Surrey's Food Climate Research Network is saying that we should to limit our consumption to 4 servings of meat and 1 liter of milk per week to avoid a runaway climate change scenario. Writers of the report hope to inspire more food awareness and garner support for the type of voluntary rationing that could significantly reduce a population's overall food-print. Among these methods are eating local and seasonal foods, walking to the store, and cooking in bulk. The report also suggests limiting your intake of food with so-called 'low nutritional value' like sweets and alcohol -- although we know that those foods provide an intangible nourishment. Meat, milk, chocolate, and now alcohol... that's a lot of rationing to adjust to. I think I like Paul McCartney's 'Meat-free Mondays' idea better.

You will have to rip my booze, meat, and milk-made ice cream (ok, not so much with the frozen treats) out of my dead hands!
