In possibly
a last ditch effort to save the company after being dumped by
Daimler, Chrysler has recently announced that it has been working on some
plans for an electric vehicle, and they plan to show them off to dealers this week. These plans are shrouded with secrecy still, but there is speculation that they will include more information on the RE-EV
ecoVoyager. But don't let the 'electric vehicle' moniker fool you, the ecoVoyager is designed to run on hydrogen fuel cells, which is currently one of the most expensive alternative fuel choices.
This vehicle was designed to be more of a minivan option in the electric car market. We already have the sportsters, the compacts and the SUVs cornered by other companies, so Chrysler may have a chance with this design. Will the American consumers go for something like this? We couldn't tell you, but what we can say is this might be Chrysler's last chance.
