Solar taxi ride around the world
Louis Palmer is the Swiss inventor of the Solar Taxi, and the most upbeat taxi driver you will ever meet. He and his dream car, and the solar panels, were in New York recently, where he was interviewed by Charlie Gibson in this video. He has the most charming pronunciation of "solar panels" ever.
Even when he was a kid, Palmer was thinking green. He drew a picture of a solar powered car as far back as 1986, and started to build the first Solar Taxi with the team in 2005. Now he's driving the car literally around the world, without using "a drop of petrol." He started driving in 2007, and so far he's clocked 23,000 miles and a lot of media attention.
Oh, by the way: in real life he wouldn't be dragging all those solar panels with him, they'd be on his house and charging the battery. He only brought them out on the trip to show people what they look like. Smart! Unwieldy, but smart.

Great idea. I own an all-hybrid, "green" taxi fleet in Westchester County, New York. If anyone visits New York please give us a call, or go on-line to reserve your taxi ride from the airport.
