Philadelphia Eagles are seriously green
The Philadelphia Eagles are a seriously green football team. I saw a little blurb on the web a few weeks ago about the team purchasing wind power offsets for its stadium. It's so much more than that. The team started a Go Green initiative way back in 2003 and has been adding to the list of green accomplishments ever since. It started with one carbon neutral Sunday football game. It expanded to planting trees at local park and then at Neshaminy State Park in the Eagles Forest.
Then the NovaCare practice center went solar. You can even see how much power it is generating in real time. Both last season and this season, the team has purchased enough wind energy credits to power Lincoln Financial Field.
Since 2004 the Eagles have reduced energy consumption by 7,500,000 kilowatt hours. Seriously impressive!
