Earth First! members require Xanax immediately
From what I can gather from their website, Earth First! is an active group of individuals who promise direct action in order to save the environment. They proudly state that they are known to participate in grassroots organization and even civil disobedience.
Local chapters comprised of those willing to throw a "monkey wrench" in the system can be created by anyone who is fed up with other environmental groups who don't get results. In reading their synopsis, I was reminded of the Animal Liberation Front and other militant groups that put the safety other people and their own freedom second to their cause.
All of this posturing is rather comical after seeing this video of a North Carolina Earth First! group as they mourn "the loss of the old growth trees." Did I say mourn? I mean wail, kvetch, howl, and outright bawl. Now, there is a debate in my house as to whether or not this is real. I'm leaning towards yes. What is your take?
