Colin the Baby Whale
Colin, the baby humpback whale who has been attempting to nurse from yachts in the waters near Sydney, has been euthanized by wildlife officials. After the decision was made that nothing more could be done for him, there was some trouble in locating Colin. But he as found, and according to Sydney's Daily Telegraph, the fatal injection was administered early Friday, and Colin's body will be towed to the Taronga Zoo for investigation. This heartbreaking end comes after heavy media coverage from newspapers and a popular video of his pursuit of the yacht, and debate between activists over what more could have been done to save the juvenile whale.
