Americans think worst of the 2008 oil crunch over
Most Americans think that the worst of fuel prices have passed for 2008, according to a recent Reuters/Zogby poll.Just under 13% of those polled thought gas prices would rise a lot between now and the end of the year. One-quarter of respondents thought prices would rise a little, and 30 percent thought they would drop a bit, with 18 percent forecasting they will stay the same.
Certainly gas prices vary across the country, but around where I am, gas prices are ticking down day by day, to around $3.50 per gallon. I'm not a betting man, but if I was, I would bet that they keep on going down during the last part of this year, ending up below $3.50 a gallon.
On the housing market, two-thirds of respondents thought that home prices would stay the same or drop in the next year.
