definitely mise en place. nothing beats prepping everything before cooking so you're not wasting time running around the kitchen burning things trying to prep on the fly.

I try to keep my kitchen well organized (cupboards, drawers, fridge, pantry, etc.) so I am not running around at the last minute trying to find things or going to the store buy an item I know I already have. It also helps to put items back exactly where you got them.

Make extra! Rice, dried beans, muffins, meals, etc. I either use the extras for the next meal or throw them in the freezer for another day.

I try to keep everything in either zip lock baggies or tupper wear bowls to stay organized...you know, the clear ones that you can see what you have stored in them. It keeps my sanity level down when trying to cook, bake or put things away quick and easy...

My best tip is rinse and re-use. After you boil the pasta, set in a strainer and use the same pot to cook your sauce. Cook your pancakes in the skillet, then add oil to cook the eggs. When cutting your veggies use the same cutting board and knife, just wipe it down between more fragrant ingredients such as onions; if you are a omnivore cut your veggies, then your meats to avoid contamination. Not only will this cut down on your prep time as you won't be searching the kitchen for yet another appliance, but it will also mean less to clean.

Teach my kids to cook so that they can take care of it when I don't have enough time.

Grow your own vegetables and cook in season to go along with what you have growing. Right now, I have yellow squash, tomatoes, tomatillos and peppers, plus herbs.

My best tip is to try and clean up while you are cooking. Once you are done with some things like cutting board or pots and pans try to wash them so you do have to do as much after you have finished eating.

I keep the cabinets organized and when I am low on essential ingredients I make sure to add it to the shopping list on the fridge so I don't find myself short an important ingredient and having to make a midweek trip to the store just to pick it up.

I am always looking for natural recipes. it is so hard, almost everything calls for a processed ingredient in the store. i just got done making super homemade pizza. it was delicious! ;)

Without a doubt, wash as you go. Keep your work area clean. It's so daunting to finish cooking only to find a mound of dirty dishes await!

I cook and wahs everything I use at the same time. Once I'm done, there are no dirty dishes and the food is ready.

When I cook something with a lot of ingredients like chicken curry, I cut up the veggies like the onions, ginger, garlic etc first. I measure out the spices and put them aside and only then do I start the cooking. It is a little time up front, but I save time by being organized, not leaving anything out of the recipe, and not having to stop and search for a spice or something else.

I find my time saving in the kitchen begins in the market when shop, by making menus ahead of time I buy the things I need and never have to just 'pop' out to the store for somethiing I find I don't have half way through preparing a dish. Also while in the market I look for foods that are partially prepped such as shucked corn or boned and skinned chicken. Saves a lot of time later.

I always plan my meals weekly and that way I know exactly what I'm going to make . I can even prepare some of the meal the night before like cutting up vegetables etc. Thank you so much!

My time saving tip is the same as most everybody else...clean as you go. By the time it is all ready , you have a clean kitchen again!

Before I go grocery shopping, I clean out the fridge to make room for more. This saves me time hunting for what I need. I also make start out with a clean kitchen and an empty dishwasher to save clean up time and frustration.
