The earth is flat, no really
Since most of us have never: a.) been to outer space or b.) circumnavigated the globe, there are some people out there who might refer to us as believers -- as in, you believe that world is round. You see, there's actually an international group of "anti-globularists" out there called the Flat Earth Society who don't fall in line with the "theory" that earth is round. They maintain that it's actually a disc. All the pictures of earth from space -- fakes.Often times, when people are debating global climate change, they refer to skeptics with derogatory terms like "flat-earthers." Apparently, that terminology isn't technically accurate. Chance are that whoever you're disagreeing with actually does believe in globularism -- unless you happen to be talking with one of the card carry members of The Flat Earth Society. The movement has lost momentum since the death of its leader Charles Johnson, but the institution lives on.
Anyway, just thought that this was an interesting anecdote about the difficulty of convincing skeptics to believe in almost anything.
