Sam's Club rolls out solar kiosks
After spending years playing the part of the evil, small business-crushing, worker-oppressing, bully retailer -- it seems like Wal-Mart is doing everything they can to convince us that they operate solely for the betterment of mankind. Now ,they're taking their green act a step further. Starting with 9 Sam's Club stores in sunny Southern California, solar kiosks will start popping up -- as Wal-Mart dives into the rooftop solar business.At these kiosks, shoppers will find information about the benefits of installing solar panels, as well as get about $500 worth of discounts towards a rooftop array. Apparently, these 9 Sam's Club stores have teamed up with local solar companies Borrego Solar to make these kiosks happen. From what I've read, it doesn't sound like you'll be able to find your panels on the giant warehouse shelves yet. Instead, they're mostly promotional. Hopefully, it won't be long before Sam's Club has a 'solar panel' section.
