Green Daily giveaway: Ripple digital shower timer
Upon hearing of my plight to achieve the perfect four minute shower, Ripple has generously sent Green Daily six shower timers to give away. Hurrah! Now you too can enjoy the mind numbing madness of trying to cut your shower time down. Showering for under five minutes isn't so bad when there is no shaving or hair washing involved. Fortunately the Ripple timers allow you to choose the length of your shower so you can add on an extra minute or two on days that you want a deep clean. They stick right to your shower with a suction cup for easy viewing.
Ripple is an Australian company that aims to bring awareness about water saving methods to the world. They provide many water saving products to help consumers cut down on their consumption. Their name comes from the idea that what we say and do can create a positive ripple in the community.
- To enter, leave a confirmed comment below telling us your favorite way to shorten your shower time.
- The comment must be left before 5pm EST on Tuesday, July 29th.
- You may enter only once.
- 6 winners will be selected in a random drawing.
- Each winner will receive one Ripple digital shower timer (valued at $19.95 apiece).
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
Good luck!

I turn the water off when scrubbing to save water. It works pretty well, except during winter when the air is pretty cold - because we're being energy misers by turning the heat down.

I'll take a cold shower because it forces me to keep it short or else I'll ... well, be cold.

Listen to precisely two songs, which ends up being about 6 minutes.

There are two things that keep my showers short:
1. Getting home late from work (after 11 pm) smelling like bacon, pickles, and other deli food, and wanting to get to bed as soon as possible!
2. Cold water!
My showers stay pretty short due to those two factors. However, my younger sister is another story. This timer would make an excellent gift for her upcoming birthday. Thanks for the giveaway!

Shower with your significant other so you can combine your 5 minutes into 10!

My current method is to get up late so that I'm in a rush and then have my husband come in and yell after 5 minutes that he wants hot water too! I could really use a time ;)

Currently, I set my alarm clock for 10 minutes in the future. This is the total time I can spend in the bathroom each morning, including shaving and brushing my teeth at the sink. A shower timer seems like it would be much less tedious to set.

Wash hair first with hot water to relax a bit, then crank it to cold and do the rest of your body. It wakes you up and then you hussle!

I don't condition my hair, and basically just try and move fast once I turn the water on.

I only wash my hair every 2nd or third day. That takes less time. But just getting in the shower and getting it done takes no time at all. No standing around doing nothing. As Niecy Nash says "Just get to gettin'!"

I use liquid soap on my soap sponge. It is much faster than using hand soap and smells nicer.

I need one of these for my son. His normal showers take 45 minutes. His "quick" ones take 15. I stick to taking baths.
Of course, I am pretty sure my son would ignore the timer. Maybe he would use it on the 3rd shower of the day.

I make sure all the items I need for my shower are handy. I don't like having to search for the shampoo or soap. My husband likes to move things around in the shower and it messes up my routine, so I go in prepared!

I take colder showers, which shortens the length because I don't want to stay in as long.. and I don't stand in the water and just let it run over me anymore.. although I do miss it :)
